Abstract

Pindikodveshtana (Muscle spasm) wherein the vitiation of Vata dosha is recognized as the primary etiological factor behind such localized involuntary spasms. This condition is also frequently correlated with Mamsagata Vata, a state where vitiated Vata affects the muscular tissues, leading to persistent stiffness and functional impairment. Therapeutic strategies for Pindikodveshtana frequently incorporate Swedana, a non-surgical thermal procedure that facilitates Vata pacification, thereby alleviating muscular stiffness and rigidity . In particular, techniques such as Snigdha Sweda are highly efficacious in mitigating Vata disorders by promoting tissue nourishment and enhancing local blood circulation, which addresses the underlying etiology of muscular spasms . Within the framework of Sankara Sweda, modalities like Pinda Sweda are particularly instrumental in managing these musculoskeletal perturbations by delivering sustained heat and therapeutic substances to the affected areas.
